Dan Patel, CEOIts latest generation IGBT technology powers Amtech’s complete motor control solutions. The company diligently emphasizes thermal engineering and control algorithms, which provide energy-efficient, low loss drive with no EMI/RFI and noise-related issues. Unlike other drives with 104 °F (40 °C) ambient, Amtech’s drives are 122 °F (50 °C) rated, making it one of the most rugged drives available globally. Besides realizing the users’ difficulty of understanding and remembering all parameters for programming, the company has introduced plain English language HMI instead of codes, helping them navigate and program it easily. “In a nutshell, we manufacture the world’s best user-friendly Industrial grade VFDs,” remarks Ben.
Amtech’s power quality products portfolio focuses on mitigating the harmonics-related issues. Most industries use VFDs for energy conservation and some form of automation, and they save energy in the range of 30-60 percent on their utility bills. Due to the non-linear load, there will be harmonics in the power systems. To that end, Amtech has introduced world-class power quality product active harmonic filters, helping customers get a complete harmonic solution to meet IEEE 519 requirements.
Ben Patel, DirectorAmtech’s unwavering commitment to customer success is visible throughout its solutions and processes. Ben mentions that there have been instances where the company has delivered the product at midnight or after office hours, enabling customers to restart operations quickly. He also cites another instance wherein the company helped a customer from the rubber industry install a 1200 HP drive. The total solution was made according to their requirements, but after installation, they faced a new issue—the environment was impure with rubber particles and carbon in the air as they used rubber powder to produce solid rubber, harming the drive. Amtech provided a small cabin with Carbon Dust going outside the building and not into the drive. This substantially increased its reliability and extended the drive’s life cycle, leaving the customer satisfied. “We provide the best value to the customer in a competitive way where the customer and we both are in a win-win situation,” says Dan.![]()
Every industry with an AC motor is our customer and we have standard as well we tailor our products to customers’ specific requirements
Along with developing ingenious solutions, there is a lot of R&D going on at Amtech with the mission to provide world’s best technology to its customers. “We are a technology company, so we are always on our toes,” affirms Ben. Moving ahead, the company plans to introduce next generations of VFDs, soft starters, active harmonic filters and achieve organic and inorganic growth through the years. “For us, the market is huge, and we are trying to capture a small pie of it,” concludes Ben.
